6 Simple Ways to Spruce up Your Home while Sheltering in Place – Part 1

First of all, how are you?? Stressed? Worried? Anxious? Hungry? Why am I so hungry? Oh yeah BECAUSE Covid -19 is trying to kill us! JK….kinda… This is exactly why we invest in our homes….because when the shit hits the fan – your home is there to comfort you and your family! It’s there to help you to make memories! With that in mind, I’m sharing 6 simple ways to spruce up your home while “Sheltering in place.” And the first is simple but VERY effective and it just makes you feel good! Style your bed like a design pro!

Idea No 1: Style Your Bed Like a Design Pro

Get some deliciously soft sheets and a duvet, shams, and throw pillows that make your heart and eyeballs sing.

Think about it!? What better (and easy) way to add some comfort to your space during this stressful time? Your bed gives you a place to sleep and rejuvenate, to rest and recuperate when you’re sick, to snuggle when you need comfort, and make love when you’re feeling sexy! Yowza!! 😎 It’s important people! It’s real important!

I personally don’t like my bed to be too fussy because if it’s too fussy – I will never make it…..so I like to buy a few sets of sheets so I can change them at least every two weeks. A sheet set (for me) includes one fitted sheet, one flat sheet, and two pillow cases. Then I choose a duvet or comforter and matching shams. Lastly, I layer on a throw pillow or two and a throw blanket. As you can see I literally throw the throw-blanket on. Again, if I had to perfectly fold it….my bed would never get made so I opt for the effortlessly chic look. Again we’re looking for super simple ways to spruce up your home while sheltering in place! Emphasis on SIMPLE!

If you like your bed to have a bit more texture than you can opt to have both a coverlet and duvet. I personally love to have the coverlet on the bed with the duvet at the end (like the photo above).

Again, because I don’t like my bed to be too fussy I usually stick to 1-2 throw pillows tops!

I usually buy reasonable but good quality sheets (1000 thread count Supima cotton), splurge on the duvet, shams, and throw pillow and go cheap on the throw blanket (usually Target, West Elm, or Wayfair).
