Your Home Can Encourage Gratitude

The blog

Why is being thankful and having a grateful heart important? A recent Harvard Health article detailed how studies have shown that “gratitude is strongly and consistently associated with greater happiness. Gratitude helps people feel more positive emotions, relish good experiences, improve their health, deal with adversity, and build strong relationships.” In addition, I learned that practicing gratitude only makes being grateful easier! It’s cyclical. The more thankfulness you practice, the more thankful you become. So, what does this have to do with your home? I am glad you asked!!!!

If being grateful has all of these incredible benefits, then why not do everything you can do encourage that feeling? Your home is such a HUGE part of your life. It sets the tone for how you show in the world! If your home has been designed to reflect you (your passions, your journey, your culture), AND it’s filled with things you love, AND it’s designed to support your emotional and functional needs… how could you not feel grateful? The physical space itself will induce a feeling of gratitude. Therefore, decorating your home isn’t just about being shallow and following the latest trends. It can serve a much deeper purpose in your life – if you let it.

Maybe it’s crazy to think that beautiful sofa that you just LOVE could end up saving you $1000’s of dollars in stress and anxiety-related medical bills because it makes you thankful. And maybe not!!!
